...continued

When I needed someone to take care of my needs, My Lady was the right choice, My Lady even did some things better then Mom and Dad, who have been taking care of me since the day I was born. For she knew my needs and wants very well. A few months turned out to be a year and almost three months.

It was a cool day in March of 1994, the last day that I saw My Lady. She came in just like always and took care of my needs, and we talked about old good times that we had had together. For the last time she put me in my wheelchair, making plans of the things that we were going to do together. And for the last time, she kissed me good-bye and said, "I'll see you Monday".

Dad and I took a walk that Friday afternoon in March, and we passed My Lady as she drove by and we waved at one another. Then late the afternoon the phone rang, with the shocking news that My Lady would not be back the following Monday. If Mom would have told me that My Lady was dead, I could have taken it better. There was not explanation why My Lady had left me. I couldn't even imagine why My Lady could ever hurt me this way.

Now the trust and confidence that she had built up inside of me, and all the things that she encouraged me to do were gone. There was nothing left but heartache.

My Lady was "THE WIND BENEATH MY WINGS". But in a shattering moment, MY WINGS WERE CLIPPED!
