Amazon.com Shipping Information
Amazon.com offers a number of shipping options for both
domestic and international customers. You can select a shipping
method that provides the right combination of price and speed to meet
your needs.
An important fact about Next Day Air and other express shipping methods:
- Upgrading to Next Day Air does not mean you'll get your order
the next day.
Upgrading to Next Day or 2nd Day Air does not change how long it
takes us to assemble and ship your order--it only reduces the travel
time after the book leaves our warehouse. For example, an item marked
as "Usually shipped within 2 to 3 days" and upgraded to Next
Day Air will usually leave our warehouse on the 2nd or 3rd business
day and reach you on the 3rd or 4th business day.
How many shipments will we make to satisfy an order?
- If you select the "Make one shipment when complete order
is ready" option on the order form, we wait until we have
all the books in your order before shipping any of them. For
example, if you place an order for two books, one marked as
"Usually shipped within 2 to 3 days" and the other marked
"Special Order: usually shipped within 4 to 6 weeks," we
hold shipment of the first book until the special order book is
available, at which time we ship both books to you in one package.
You can avoid any delay by selecting the "Ship as ordered
books become available" option on the order form or
by placing separate orders for books in different availability
categories.
Note about out-of-print titles: Any out-of-print books in your order
will automatically
be shipped separately, even if you choose "Make one shipment when
complete order is ready."
Note about 1-Click orders: All 1-Click orders placed within
90 minutes of each other will be combined automatically into a maximum
of 2 orders. Click
here for more information about
1-Click shipping information. (Use the Back button on your browser to return to this page.)
- If you select the "Ship as ordered books become
available" option on the order form, your shipping charges
will increase, but if you order books in multiple availability
categories, we will ship the more readily available books sooner. If
you select this option, we make an effort to ship books as soon as we
obtain them, while at the same time not making any more shipments than
necessary (to save you some money).

Packages to Guam and all U.S. protectorates and territories may be
shipped only via USPS Priority Mail (our standard shipping) or,
for express mail, via DHL Worldwide Express International. This means
that for standard shipping these addresses are considered
U.S. addresses, and for priority mail these addresses are considered
international and are subject to any duties and customs which may

Australia, and 10 to 12 weeks to Brazil, to name a few.

What about customs?
We mark international packages as containing "Books--New"
and state the cost of the books on the customs documentation; if the
order is a gift, the package is marked "Gift," but the cost of the
books is still stated on the customs form. Currently, we are not able to
describe the contents in any other way.
Any customs or import duties are levied once the package reaches your
country. Additional charges for customs clearance must be
borne by you; we have no control over these charges and cannot predict
what they may be. Customs policies vary widely from country to
country; you may want to contact your local customs office for further
information.
